The Benefit Specialist will facilitate consumer enrollment in insurance coverage in health care safety net programs such as Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP, and County Indigent programs. The Benefit Specialist may also facilitate consumer enrollment in insurance coverage through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace. The Benefit Specialist will screen individuals and families to determine eligibility for benefits and assist them in completing the application and enrollment process to obtain health care coverage. The Benefit Specialist may provide telephonic and in person program registration services for new and returning LSCC patients.

This position works under the direction of the Manager, Business Intelligence and works closely with developers  and other subject-matter experts (SMEs) including physicians and clinical operations staff. The BI Developer is responsible for creating and optimizing T-SQL queries that power Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC)’s suite of reports and analyses.

LSCC seeks to hire a Clinical Navigator who is experienced working with the underserved population, who may have significant barriers to care. The Clinical Navigator will deliver behavioral assessments and interventions for patient’s biopsychosocial needs in the context of medical, emotional and/or behavioral problems, focusing on unhealthy alcohol use. The Clinical Navigator will provide, facilitate, and track successful referral to resources. This position will be required to travel to other LSCC facilities as needed. The Clinical Navigator will collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization and must be able to maintain professional working relationships and provide excellent customer service.

 The Clinical Navigator will work to increase access to Lung Cancer Screening and smoking cessation services for patient who formerly or currently smoke. Provide scheduling assistance to Lone Star Circle of Care patients and perform insurance verification duties. In addition, Patient Service Representative will perform appointment confirmations, cancellations, and reschedules. Under general supervision, exercises some discretion, makes routine decisions based on existing scheduling guidelines and will assume other duties when assigned. Program advisor provides financial screening program registration services for new and returning Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC) patients/clients. Program advisor educates clients on the program registration process and eligibility for any programs the client is found qualified such as LSCC Sliding Fee Discount Schedule, Medicaid, CHIP, MAP, WILCO and other state or federal programs.
