  • Overview

    The Network Engineer is responsible for developing and integrating the network communication requirements for the LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, VPN services, wireless and remote access services, and associated management tools. The role also analyzes network usage and network performance to optimize services and track adherence to SLAs, identifies areas of network inefficiency and makes recommendations for improvement. Other responsibilities include new network technology, planning and design of future network architecture, and documentation related to network architecture, processes and support.


    Special Duties:


    • Maintains LAN, WAN, intranet and Internet network hardware and systems; investigates and resolves network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes, isolates and resolves errors
    • Provides technical support on data networks for internal and/or external customers; answers technical questions.
    • Provides technical leadership for data network problem escalation and resolution.
    • Installs and maintains network facilities, including hardware, software, and system data for small to medium sized networks.
    • Prepares data network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operational status of networks.
    • Implements, manages and troubleshoots network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, Load-Balancers, Wireless LAN Controllers and WAN Acceleration devices.
    • Assists and coordinates in the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of IT security solutions.

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR equivalent years of related work experience
    • Minimum of four (4) years related experience




    • Technology Certification
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new computer programs efficiently
    • Proficiency with EMR system
    • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus
